We originally started going to Mt Rainier, when our friends owned a cabin at the park entrance, about 47 years ago now.

What got us hooked on staying at the mountain was when we went to Paradise at Mount Rainier; and on our way back down, we had a chance to stay overnight. It snowed 18 inches overnight!

When we dug the car out from the snow, we then drove around the loop, to where the Laze Daze cabin is now. We had an immense amount of fun, playing in the snow, and feeling free in such an awe inspiring place. A few years later, we had the opportunity to own a cabin, and we took it. From that time on, we have had many enjoyable times at our cabin at the base of the mountain.

When we first bought Laze Daze, we only had running water, a wood stove, and a real out-house!

The cabin didn’t use to have a shower or bath, so the adults and kids would be given a bath out of a large tin bowl, with the water having been heated on a Franklin stove.

All the beds were in the loft upstairs; now we have a master bedroom downstairs, with an adjoining bathroom, and a separate bathroom downstairs with a washer/dryer. So many updates.

Through the years we have been updating it and have modernized it, to what it is now. Gas fireplace, full kitchen and bathrooms, entertainment center, and recently a telephone.

However, even with the updates, you can still feel the roots of our wonderful cabin in the woods.

On Thanksgiving, just a couple years ago, early morning, we awoke to the sight of 21 deer in the front yard.

Our Laze Daze Cabin is a nature lovers dream location, with deer, birds and other forest friends; to sit back and enjoy right from the porch, or even when looking out the window while sitting in the Jacuzzi tub.

We have gotten to enjoy the deer at the cabin, for all these many years. Many of the deer have twins, and it is very enjoyable to see them each year. Little spotted fawns, leaping through the woods. The doe, the yearlings, and the fawns, are always a pleasure to see.

We have had many wonderful memories through the years taking our children to the cabin, and having their friends along.

As our children are grown up, and we have retired, we have decided to share our cabin with friends, family and guests, and being able to rent it out to those whom will appreciate the wonders that Laze Daze has to offer is a special treat to us.
